According to Ayurveda, my body dosha type is vata and I am indeed a classic “vata”. I am petite, I have a very slender physique, and I’m highly sensitive in every sense of the word. One of the things that affects my health and wellness very strongly is a change in weather. Summer is a very uncomfortable season for me because oppressive heat makes me very ill. However, when the weather turns cold, I start to feel much better and healthier. I make a strong effort to keep my lifestyle as “vata” balanced as possible. This includes what I eat and drink as well as the personal care products I use on my skin and in my hair. So if you are a “vata” body type, like I am, you may want to try some of my tips.
- Using natural essential oils of sandalwood, peppermint, patchouli, chamomile, and cinnamon are very soothing to my nervous system and help me to feel energized, relaxed, and at ease.
- Eating natural health foods with fresh ginger and ginger powder, garlic, and onions also go a long way to help me feel healthy, well, and energized.
- Drinking one of my favorite healing drink blends–an envelope of Emergen-C mixed with two tablespoons of organic apple cider vinegar, and purified drinking water.
- Drinking another favorite healing drink blend–a tiny pinch of red hot cayenne pepper powder mixed with two tablespoons of fresh squeezed lemon juice and 1-2 tablespoons of organic fructose granules in a cup of hot purified water.
These two drinks are part of my daily health and wellness regimen and I always make sure to keep them very close and within reach for any health imbalance that affects me. Mother Nature has many great natural health food remedies to keep us healthy and well.
