Are All Natural Skin Care Products Always Cruelty Free?
This may come as a shocker to some, but according to Marilyn Hammers from an article in Natural Solutions magazine, there are certain cosmetic companies that use deceptive labeling to pedal so-called “cruelty free” products. Even worse, some of these are the same companies that make and sell all natural skin care products, which makes it hard to know which products to trust. While not all of these corporations are directly involved in the testing of harmless animals, some of these companies might hire another company to do the dirty work for them, while others blindly use products that may or may not have used animal tested ingredients.
Fortunately there are still many all natural skin care products that are 100% cruelty free. It takes a little more effort to search and seek these companies, but you know it’s the right thing to do. Here are some ways just to find such products.
1- Look for the Leaping Bunny Logo which indicates that is was approved by the Coalition For The Caring Consumer. Remember that not all products with a bunny logo mean that it is cruelty free.
2- If you’re uncertain about the brand or product in question, it might be a smart move to contact customer service to find out more. While you may not get a completely honest answer, most companies that sell all natural skin care products will gladly inform you.
3-Shop online for cruelty free and vegan cosmetic brands since the websites often have the best selection.
4-Stop purchasing cosmetics and products from companies that use cruel practices(whether it is in-directly or directly), and let them know why. Send them a nice letter explaining why you’re not going to purchase any more products from them, and ask them to re-think their methods. If we’re in this all together, we can make the world a better place for all living creatures.
