Vegan Skin Care Tips For Winter
Nearly 60% of women over the age of 18 years complain of dry, dehydrated skin as their main concern during winter, as the skin produces less sebum and looses more moisture. You need to take care and adjust your skin care routine by following these vegan skin care tips to keep your skin looking its best during the colder months.
Change Your Cleanser
Use a product that is more emollient that will not dry the skin too much. Some people prefer using vegan soap and cleansers made with shea butter, which cleanse without drying too much, like foreue vegan handmade soaps. People with dry or a combination skin can try using cleansing oils, cold creams, oatmeal or rich herbs, like foreue Herbal Skin Care. Use soaps made with wheat-germ oil, as it is rich in Vitamin E, an important vegan skin care ingredient that keeps the skin in good condition.
Exfoliate
In-case your skin looks dull and flaky, try to exfoliate at least 1-3 times a week, with natural vegan skin care exfoliates like certain fruits or oatmeal. You can try making exfoliating scrubs by adding a few teaspoons of poppy seeds, rosemary seeds, or vanilla pods.
Moisturize & Hydrate
After exfoliating use, a moisturizer that contains oils rich in essential fatty acids to help replace the lost moisture, at least 30 minutes before going out. Try lavender or chamomile to hydrate and soothe the skin and do not forget to drink plenty of water to remain hydrated. Be sure to use cold pressed butters and unrefined oils as they contain more antioxidants, vitamin, and nutrients. Shea butter is good for most skin types and forms a non-greasy, breathable, non-pore clogging barrier on the skin. Again foreue lotions and cremes may help
Chapped Lips, Dry Hands & Feet
Normally lips and hands suffer the most in winters, as the lips get chapped and hands get dry and flaky. Choose a thick vegan skin moisturizer like cold pressed jojoba oil or shea butter for your lips, and apply it before going to bed or before going out. You can soak your feet in warm water for 10 minutes, then apply shea butter to the soles and heels, and wear socks before going to bed.
