So you want to start making your own vegan homemade skin care products, how do you start?  Its not really that hard, just simply do your research on not only actual recipes, but the benefits of certain natural or organic plants. You cannot just take a salad and throw it in the blender and expect to make, let’s say, an exfoiliant scrub. Here are some tips and ideas to get you started in your kitchen beauty lab with homemade skin care products.

1- What are you looking for? Do you want to make a body scrub, soap, or fragrance? That’s where your research begins as you research terms to learn about the recipes and common ingredients that make your vegan homemade skin care products work. For instance: coffee beans and sea salts are often used as exfoiliants; avocado and kiwi are often used for both skin and hair.

2- Invest in kitchen equipment. Most of us have a blender or food processor, but in order for you to create quality homemade skin care products you’ll probably also want to purchase a strainer, apple corer, plastic bottles, tubs, and spoons. And that’s just to start out. Other natural vegan homemade skin care recipes might call for extra equipment so plan accordingly.

3- As with any new skin care product, you might want to do a quick skin allergy test to make sure that you’re not allergic to any of the products your using. Apply a small sample to your skin and wait 12 to 24 hours before any full application of the product.  Its always better to test a product before use in case of any adverse reaction.  Store the rest of the product in a plastic container in the fridge(unless otherwise noted).
