Plan Perfect Autumn Home Spa Treatments Pt 1
After the pumpkins have been whizzically turned into jack-o-lanterns, SAVE the remains to pamper yourself in Fall’s home spa treatments!
Pumpkins are rich in antioxidants like Vitamin A and zinc. This is fantastic news for preventing wrinkles, cell regeneration and softening of skin. Here’s an easy homemade recipe for making a pumpkin “softener and slough” for feet, especially heels. Here’s what you’ll need for the first of our home spa treatments:
About 1 cup of pumpkin peel (with bits of flesh is ok)
1/2 cinnamon stick, coarsely ground
1/2 cup turbinado sugar
1/2 cup of almond milk (soy is ok too)
Roughly chop or blend the left over pumpkin peels. Pour into a bigger bowl than you’ll think you’ll need. Mix in sugar, cinnamon and milk one by one by hand. Stir until a chunky yet consistent “gritty” mixture is achieved. Adding a little more milk or plain water to desired consistency is ok. Set aside for the moment. Have a basin of warm water ready. Important: soak feet in warm water first for about 7-10 minutes. Lift one foot out of water and spread mixture, making sure to cover all over foot. “Lather” and scrub foot, in between toes and especially heels. Rinse. Pat dry. Notice the soft, smooth and suppleness of your feet, lightly fragranced with the scent of Fall. Home spa treatments are great ways to pamper yourself.
