For centuries, natives of India and the Pacific Islands have been noted for their beautifully thick, long hair and glowing skin. What’s their secret? It’s definitely in their diet. It’s definitely on their bodies. It’s definitely the humble coconut.Coconut meat and especially the extra virgin coconut oil are the champions of beauty products.

Besides the silky smooth texture and sweet smell of summer, extra virgin coconut oil is antiviral, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory. Why are these properties important in beauty products? For starters, summer sun can be brutal. High humidity can cause breakouts. This leaves skin prone to overexposure and to a lesser known degree, produces more sebum (natural body oils). The extra virgin coconut oil acts as a barrier to exposed skin. It keeps non-beneficial bacterium from entering. Plus, natural coconut oil cools and calms.
